We received a message via a friend of another rescue contact to say that 2 boars were being given away for free on one of the Facebook sales pages. It is a sad fact that animals given away for free on such sites are often subjected to continuous re-homing or end up being used for bait/food.
The lady who had initially raised concerns about these boys offered to collect them and bring them into rescue - thank you, you know who you are. The boys were allegedly being given away because their owner was moving house and couldn't/didn't want to take them with her. Despite being indoor piggies North & Fleet, as they have become known, are very skittish lads who obviously haven't received much handling.
The first job was to give them both a health check, pedicure and full spa treatment to rid them of a few visitors and general dirt and grime. After their wash and brush up the boys were settled into their temporary housing and left to get used to their new surroundings.
These handsome chaps have been offered space at another Piggy Bank rescue that we work closely with and as soon as transport can be arranged they will be heading off to pastures new in search of their forever home.
