Someone had dumped 3 gorgeous guinea pigs in a cardboard box under the hedgerows in one of the lanes local to East Peckham Guinea Pig Rescue. The guinea pigs had broken out of the box and had been living in the rabbit burrows since Thursday. The RSPCA were called by a local lady and despite an initial inspection they won't do anything until Wednesday, sadly the guinea pigs were likely to be fox food by then.
Happy to say that after 5 hours of patiently waiting and bribing them with food, and with the help of a rescue volunteer, all 3 piggies are now safely tucked up here. The girls will now spend 10 weeks here to rule out pregnancy and will be bathed and generally pampered.

The gorgeous Lucks Lane Ladies Clover and Bebe sadly lost their unborn babies within 48 hours of each other. Both girls are roans and sadly 3 of the 6 babies born sleeping were lethals - something we were worried about. I'm now convinced that the girls were dumped because they had either had stillborn pups in the past or lost them soon after birth - too precious for this world :( On a positive both girls are doing ok and will never have to go through this again. Clover and Bebe will be available for rehoming shortly. It's still a waiting game for their little friend Pipkin.
