Not all the guinea pigs that arrive at EPGPR are from neglect or abandonment situations.
EPGPR took a call a couple of weeks ago from a family who had lost their sow to what the vet thought was poisoning. They had let the piggies free range in their sheltered courtyard (normally out in the garden in a run) and they think she nibbled on something she shouldn't have because despite prompt veterinary treatment they lost her.
After much thought the family have decided that the best thing for their remaining neutered boar would be to hand him in to rescue in the hope he will find love again.
Today, we were joined by Morris. A very handsome neutered boar.
